Janet Renee Alderman passed
away Sunday, February 21,
2021, surrounded by family, at
St. Mary’s Hospital.
Janet was born May 27, 1960,
in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She
later moved to Grand Junction,
Colorado, where she met the
love of her life, Bruse Alderman.
Janet and Bruse were married May 10, 1986.
Janet was a very caring and loving person. She was a devoted
wife and loving mother, grandma, and friend. She worked multiple
jobs throughout her life, but her favorite job was being a grandma.
To her, there was nothing better than loving and snuggling the
grandbabies. Janet never ran short of hugs, kisses, snuggles or food.
She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Neitzert; husband, Bruse
Alderman; sisters, Diane Squillace, Karen Gillis, Jayne Chacon,
and Theresa Anderson; daughters, Gina Hammer and Jilliana
Martinez, and grandchildren, Andy Martinez, Jacob Martinez,
Emily Hammer, Nicole Hammer, and Leo Martinez. Janet was
preceded in death by her father, Ralph Neitzert.
Janet’s family was able to honor her final wish as an organ and
tissue donor, her gift to others wasn’t stopped by her death, it
continues. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family is asking for donations in
Janet’s name to Donor Alliance or HopeWest.
