Gary Loren Mitchell was born
to Thelma and Pastor William
Mitchell in Rocky Ford, CO.
In his early years he attended
schools in Craig, CO, Provo,
UT, and graduated from Grand
Junction High School in 1965.
He served his country in the U.S.
Army, for two years in Vietnam
as a Sergeant in a mortar unit.
After his military service he managed his own construction
company and was employed as a home builder for many years. He
also provided building maintenance in several major facilities.
Gary was a follower of Jesus Christ and attended the First
Assembly of God Church in Grand Junction for many years,
serving and volunteering in several capacities. He enjoyed fishing
and hunting and solving construction and mechanical issues.
Gary passed away at home with his wife of 18 years, Louisa
Mitchell, by his side. He is survived by Luisa; son, Raymond
Mitchell, of Texas; daughter, Tiffany Barker, of Wyoming; four
grandchildren, and sister, Rhonda Sherman, of Grand Junction.
A graveside service will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery,
June 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.
