In loving memory, we lay to rest Maria Elva Velez. Born June 17, 1929, in Cienda Noriega, TX to Aniceto Rodreguez and Maria Bengnidez Rodreguez. Moving to reside in Eagle in 1945, she married Remigia Gomez Velez on Aug. 24, 1946
Eva was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by her husband, Frank, five sons, 8 daughters, 32 grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, six sisters and five brothers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Helen Velez-Klocke.
Rosary services will be held Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle. Mass will be held Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m., also at the church interment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle. Elva will be missed deeply; with all our love, your husband and family.

Maria Elva Velez, 66, of Eagle died recently. She was born June 17, 1929, in Cienda Noriega, Texas to Ariceto and Maria Bengridez Rodreguez. She moved to Eagle in 1945 and married Remigia Gomez Velez on Aug. 24, 1946. She is survived by her husband, Frank of Eagle; sons Ernest R. Velez of Colorado Springs, Eleno Velez of Gypsum, Francisco Velez of Minnetonka, Minn., Remigio Valez Jr. of Aurora and Raul Velez of Aurora; daughters Susana Weldon of Peyton, Adelmira Martinez of Littleton, Mary Jane Velez of Denver, Lucilla Velez of Denver, Librada Velez of Heber City, Utah, M. Elma Velez of Aurora and Rose M. Velez of Eagle; six sisters; five brothers; 32 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Maria Helen Velez-Klocke.
Rosary services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb 23, at St. Mary's. Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle.
