Born Johneth Ann Wrinkle in Tucson, AZ, to John
Wrinkle and Marie Marjorie Morrow, her early years
established a lifelong love of community activity, public
service, and lifelong learning.
After graduating from Pima High School, Tucson,
AZ, she enrolled at the University of Arizona with
the intent of completing an undergraduate degree in
Psychology. Before completing her degree she accepted
a position as a program assistant in a homeless shelter
operated by The Salvation Army in San Francisco, CA.
Eventually returning to Tucson, Johneth would meet
and marry her husband, Dennis, in 1968. They were
later sealed for all time and eternity in the Manti, UT,
temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
Johneth moved to Grand Junction with her young
family in 1977, and made it her home. She was involved
in the community in innumerable ways including as an
early supporter of the Grand Junction Symphony, and
a member of the Grand Junction Lioness Club, but she
would dedicate much of her free time for more than
20 years to the Boy Scouts of America. As a result of
her service and contributions, Johneth was recognized
by the Western Colorado Council of the BSA with the
Silver Beaver Award, the highest award bestowed by an
individual council.
An employee of Sears across four decades, Johneth
found professional success and satisfaction in
management. Working her way up the ranks across
multiple divisions, she would eventually retire from
the corporation as a regional manager of their service
division.
Johneth had an unquenchable passion for learning and
conquering challenges. After the death of her husband
and around the time of her first cancer diagnosis she
resolved one of her great regrets and returned to school
to finish her Bachelor’s Degree. She graduated from
Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Sociology
in 2012. During this period she also took on the new
challenge of performing with the Grand Junction Senior
Theatre. These challenges and the friends she made
from them gave her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers,
Kenneth Wrinkle and Donald Wrinkle, and son, Dennis
Dale McGinty. She is survived by sons, Dr. Patrick Jay
McGinty (Patricia), of Vermont, IL; Bradley A. McGinty
(Claire Kempa), of Grand Junction, CO; daughter,
Johneth M. Olson, of Grand Junction, CO; brother,
Robert Bosbury, of Kingman, AZ; grandchildren,
Iain, Ethan, Hannah, Payton, and Aidan McGinty and
Johneth R. Price, and four great-grandchildren.
The family is planning a private memorial service at
a future date.
