Carolyn Walker died Monday after a long illness. Carolyn was a regular Vail visitor from the late 60's to the late 90's.

As Packy Walker's mom, Carolyn felt responsible for the scourge she had placed on the happy valley, and she asked for forgiveness.

"Mother Packy", not to be confused with Mother Theresa, won the heart of the Vail locals. She so enjoyed the love and camaraderie that was shown her by all who knew her. This affection made her feel 25 years younger.

Carolyn is survived by Jim and Molly Walker, Doug (Packy) Walker, Lynne Walker, grandson Andy and his wife, Miki, and great-grandson Will.

A service will be held Saturday at noon at the Vail Memorial Park. Carolyn's friends are invited to this celebration of her life.

Contributions may be made to the Colorado Horse Rescue, which can be reached at 720-494-1414
