Dorothy “Dottie”
Phelps, age 96, passed
Sunday, August 15, 2021,
at La Villa Grande Care
Center, after living under
their care for 30 months.
She now is “At Peace”.
Dot was born in Shamrock, Texas, in 1925. Her
parents were born in Kansas. She outlived her parents,
husband, three sisters, one brother and oldest daughter.
She is survived by her only other daughter, Claudia
Markuson; son-in-law, Ed (she called “Mr. Markuson”);
four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren, along with many nieces and
nephews.
Her ancestors migrated to America from Germany to
Pennsylvania on the Ship Adventurer for two months
in 1732. Following generations moved on to Ohio,
Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.
Inurnment is planned for 3:00 p.m., September 17, at
the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
