Delores
Coffman Pewters
Hinnant
January 10, 1937 - August 29, 2021
Delores was the first of
three daughters born to
Dorothy DuBois Coffman
and Joe C. Coffman in
Ottumwa, Iowa. She spent
her childhood in Burlington, Iowa.
After graduating from high school, she moved to
St. Paul, MN, where she met and married William
R. Pewters (deceased). They were blessed with four
children. In 1969, the Pewters moved their family to
Grand Junction, CO.
Delores was a professional artist, working with oil,
pastel, watercolor and colored pencil. She won many
awards and sold her art in galleries. She also worked as
an interior designer and furniture saleswoman. COPD
and macular degeneration altered her life and ability to
create art, but she was able to knit for her grandchildren.
She is survived by loving sisters, JoAnn Walter, of
Florida, and Bette Koranda, of Missouri; and children,
Michael Pewters (Kelly), Catherine (Bill) Roberts,
Mary (Joe) Bernal, and Carrie (Harry) Peroulis, of
Grand Junction, CO; ten fun loving grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren (including a set of identical
twin boys). Her children and grandchildren chose many
diverse careers and achieved high goals, for which she
is very proud. She thanked God for her gifted life and
her caring family. Her cup runneth over.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
There will be a private family gathering in her honor.
Special thanks to HopeWest for their dedicated care
