Rose Mary Todd
Hegstrom passed away
to meet her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on
September 20, 2021, in
Grand Junction, Colorado
after complications of age
ran their course. She was a devoted wife to Lawrence
Edward Hegstrom and loving mother. She is living in
the hearts of those she loved, foremost her husband
who she continually thanked on their anniversaries for
loving her “so long.” The family has been blessed by
her long life and is thankful for the many years we had
together. We trust in the assurance of Ephesians 2:8,
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and
that not of yourselves; it is a gift from God.”
She was born April 12, 1925, in Salida, Colorado, to
Moses Clifton Todd and Ella Pearl Sutter. Her older
brother, John C. Todd, of Greeley, Colorado preceded
her in death, August 31, 2020.
She attended Pueblo Centennial High School,
graduating in 1943, and continued her education at the
University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in art.
She briefly attended Pueblo Junior College in 1963.
On September 10, 1949, Rose Mary married Lawrence
Edward Hegstrom, of Pueblo, at the First Baptist
Church where they first met and attended for decades.
The couple moved to Chicago briefly after marriage but
returned to Pueblo for most of their adult life. She was a
member of Pueblo Service League, P.E.O. and Eastern
Star. They recently moved to Grand Junction, Colorado
to be closer to family; their son, Todd (Angela), and
four grandchildren. They were members of the First
Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction.
Rose Mary is survived by her husband of 72 years
of Grand Junction and sons, John Hegstrom (Jane), of
Colorado Springs, and Todd Hegstrom (Angela), of
Grand Junction. Grandchildren include Adam Hegstrom
(Laura), of Colorado Springs; Luke Hegstrom, of
Colorado Springs; Parker Hegstrom (Laura), of Denver;
Tate Hegstrom (Emily), of Denver; Ian Hegstrom,
of Boulder, and Cal Hegstrom, of Boulder. Greatgrandchildren include Ida Jane Hegstrom and Anders
Lawrence Hegstrom.
A memorial service for family will be scheduled at a
later date.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to PEO
of Colorado.
