Ray White, 63, died in a Denver Hospital of cancer March 13. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend R.C. Ford in Denver March 17 and burial was at The Garden of Our Saviour, Denver.

Mr. White was born in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, July 3, 1900. He spent his childhood in Joplin, Mo., then with his parents moved to Idaho, living in Twin Falls and Caldwell. As a young man he wrangled wild horses in Montana. Still, as a young man, he decided his interests were in the culinary field and in later life became widely known as a chef.

Mr. White and his wife, Mary moved to Eagle County from Colorado Springs in October 1951, buying the Silver Spruce Cafe just west of Wolcott on Highway 6-24.

With his wife, Mr. White operated the Silver Spruce until the illness which struck a few months ago.

Mr. White is survived by his wife, Mary.
