November 12, 1948 - April 14, 2022
Richard F. Hazelton,
age 73, of Grand Junction,
passed away Thursday,
April 14, at his home.
He was born to Frankie
B. (Schafer) and Deane E.
Hazelton in McPherson,
Kansas, November 12, 1948. He stayed in Kansas
throughout his growing years; attending McPherson
High School and Hutchinson Jr. College. Rick would
also serve in the United States Air Force. In June of
1971 he would marry the love of his life, Barbara
Weston, in Liberal, KS.
He was recognized by the Scouts by the Order of
the Arrow which showcases scouts who exemplify the
values of the Boy Scouts in their lives, and was also
Stephen minister at his church. Rick enjoyed being
outdoors including camping or riding four wheelers,
and also worked with his hands. His most enjoyable
career in life was as a carpenter and woodworker. At
the end of the day he always held dear spending time
with his family.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving wife,
Barbara; daughter, Jennifer; grandchildren, Jack and
Lisle Cohen; brother, Harold, and sister, Helen Allison.
A memorial service will be held at Monument
Presbyterian Church, 2020 1/2 S. Broadway, Grand
Junction, Wednesday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m
