On Thursday, April 28,
2022, Arnold E. Chapman,
aka Chappy, loving father
of two children, passed
away at the age of 81.
Chappy was born
October 21, 1940, in
Greenwich, Connecticut, to Malcolm and Jessie
Chapman. He was a retired Air Force Veteran and
served his country for 25 years. On October 24, 1964,
he married Helen Flakes. They raised two sons, Danny
and Stephen. He was a loving father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, and uncle.
Chappy had a passion for people; he loved to talk. He
also was a collector and avid music lover, which started
at the early age of 15 with a singing group called, The
Kords. His service career took him all over the world.
He never met a stranger. He was known for his wit,
infectious laughter and, kind and compassionate spirit.
Chappy was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm;
mother, Jessie, and brother, Eddie. He is survived by
his children, Danny and Stephen; sisters, Diane and
Deborah, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Redlands Chapel,
2235 Kingston Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, on
Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to “The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” Humanitarian Aid
Fund or Temple Construction Fund, in care of Bishop
