Patricia Ann
Fennell
November 20, 1943 - April 17, 2022
Patricia, or Patti to those
who knew and loved her,
recently passed away after
a brief battle with cancer.
She was originally from
Tipp City, Ohio. She left
her hometown in her early
20s and headed for Aspen with some friends. The
group didn’t care for it as much as they hoped, so they
tried Vail next. Patti should be considered one of the
Pioneer Women of Vail as she worked at Donovan’s
Bar as a bartender for well over a decade. Patti was also
dedicated to the horse community in the Eagle Valley,
working with folks like Leonard Horn and George
Jouflas, to name a few.
She moved down-valley to Wolcott, where she spent
several years helping Nancy Biggs run the local store
and hotel. Patti eventually settled in the Grand Junction
area, where she worked at her small accounting firm
assisting local small businesses with bookkeeping. She
looked forward to rounding up the wild Mustangs off
the Colorado National Monument every season, truly
taking every chance she had to hop in the saddle and
ride her horses. She was an independent and outgoing
lady who loved helping people and animals alike.
Patti is survived by younger sister, Kathy Beryl, of
Dublin, Ohio; nephew, Brian Anderson, of Mesa,
Arizona, and dear friends, The Biggs family.
She will be missed immensely. Godspeed Patti, ride
on!
