Mires memorial today
Jerry L. Mires of Edwards passed away on Thursday.
Born in Orange, Texas, on July 13, 1944, Mires had lived in Colorado since 1976. He was the owner/operator of Eagle Valley Welding in Edwards for 25 years.
Jerry is survived by; his mother, Mary Mires, sister Carmen Lucia and brother Donnie Mires of Bridge City, Texas; his sons, David and Robert Mires of Edwards; his wife, Nancy; and beloved granddaughter Emily of Avon.
A memorial service is scheduled for today at the Singletree Golf Clubhouse at 7 p.m. There will be snacks and beverages available.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations in Jerry's honor to a smoking prevention program for children. Donations can be made to Weststar Bank, attn: Bobby. PO Box 2198, Edwards, CO 81632. Donations will also be accepted at the memorial. Checks should be made out to the Jerry Mires Donation Account.
