87. Frances was born
to Andrew and Frances
Selenke on January 29,
1935 in Grainfield, Kansas.
She spent her younger
years in Flagler and Stratton, CO, where she graduated
from Stratton High School.
Frances married Don Torline on January 6, 1955. They
were married for fifty-eight year before his passing. Out
of that union they had five children.
They relocated to Grand Junction, CO in 1960.
Frances was very active in the Catholic church and
Catholic Daughters.
She worked for City Market for 28 years. In her
retirement years she volunteered at the local soup
kitchen.
Some of her other activities included; square dancing,
reading, sewing, bowling, gardening, playing cards, and
spending time with her grandchildren.
She also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes.
Frances leaves behind her children; Charles (Linda)
Torline of Grand Junction, CO, Carolyn (Bruce) Ryman
of Lone Tree, CO, Donna (Ron) Ripperda of Littleton,
CO, Mary (John) Schilling of Denver, CO and Julie
(Chad) Velvin of Castle Rock, CO.
Nine grandchildren; Lindsay (Steve) Rolofson,
Kyle Torline, Melissa Ryman, Chris (Cayla) Ryman,
Trenton (Jax) Ripperda, John Thomas (JT) Schilling,
Connor Velvin, Spencer Velvin, Tanner Velvin, and
extended family member Jason Garrison. Four Greatgrandchildren; Hunter and Cooper Rolofson and Max
and Anna Ryman.
Brothers and sisters Albert, Pauline, Bill, Rita, Rose
and Mary.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Don,
her parents Andrew and Frances, brothers Eddie and
Pius, and her sisters; Serena, Caroline and Sister Regina.
There will be a viewing beginning at 6:00p.m.Thursday
May 26, 2022, with a rosary service to follow at
7:30p.m. A memorial mass for Frances will take place at
11:00a.m. on Friday May 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, 330 White Ave., Grand Junction, CO. A private
burial service will take place at Calvary Cemetery in
Stratton, CO.
