Early Vail resident dies in California
Paul O'Laughlin, an early resident of Vail, died June 2 in Solana Beach, Calif.
Born July 24, 1925 in Oak Park, Ill., O'Laughlin owned a stock brokerage firm in Denver and a real estate brokerage firm in Vail. His wife, Sally, owned "My Favorite Things."
They were limited partners in Vail Associates beginning in 1963 and greatly enjoyed their 15 years on Forest Road, when they moved to their ranch in Eagle on Bruce Creek Road for 15 more years. Survivors include Sally, sons Paul of Whitefish, Mont., and Michael of Watertown, Mass., and daughters Catherine Flavin O'Laughlin, MD., of Doolin, County Clare, Ireland and Shawn O'Laughlin of Anacortes, Wash. Private services were held June 20.
