Early resident of Vail dies in Germany at 93
"Nooni" Sabine Roether, who lived in Vail in its early days, died Oct. 8 in Germany at the age of 93.
According to her daughter, Monika Brown, Roether "loved life, and she was loved."
"Some are the salt of the earth--they have roots. Some are like the wind--they are everywhere. Sabine Roether lived in Cail during its pioneer days. She knew our small community and was happy here. She moved back to Germany--Regensburg--where she passed on surrounded by our family: Monika Brown, Nicholas R. Brown, Lisa Colaco, Barbara Schumann, Ekkehard Schumann, Sabine Haas, Gerd Haas, Miriam, Jakob and Nikolaus, Sebastian N. Schumann, Antonia Sacha, Valentin and Ferdinand.
