Grandmother extraordinaire Francile 'Tutu' McBride dies.

Francile "Tutu" McBride, of Avon, passed away Tuesday, March 10. She was 72.

Ms. McBride died in her sleep of natural causes. A memorial service is scheduled for today at 7 p.m. at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel, 405 7th St., Glenwood Springs.

Born in Athens, Texas, Ms. McBride was employed by Vail Associates as a day care provider. She was active in her church, Unity of the Mountains, and was a "Grandmother Extraordinaire." She was also an "adopted" mom and grandmother to many who loved her.

Ms. McBride is survived by a son, Milas Kennington of Avon; granddaughters Briony Kennington Hunn and Killion Kennington Hunn, both of Avon; son-in-law Jack D. Hunn of Avon; sisters Dori McBride of Dallas, Texas, Susan Grace McBride of Los Angeles and Ora McBride Julie of New York City; and nephews David McBride of Baltimore, Md., Gavin McCune of Los Angeles and Michael McCune of Blythe, Calif. Memorials may be sent to the Avon Public Library.

Francile "Tutu" McBride, of Avon, passed away Tuesday, March 10. She was 72.
