Memorial services for Kurt Everett of Leadville, who died Sunday in a car crash near Red Cliff, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1 and Thursday, Nov. 2.
Everett, 36, worked for Avon-Beaver Creek Transit as a bus driver and in maintenance. A rosary is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at S. Joseph's Catholic Church in Leadville, where Everett was a member. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. the next day, with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Everett is survived by his mother, Rose Kochevar Everett; his maternal grandmother, Molly Kochevar; a sister, Janet Everett; a brother, Richard Everett; and sister-in-law Tammy Everett, all of Leadville. Another brother, Dave Everett and his wife, Diane Everett, live in Canon City. Kurt Everett's father, Paul Everett, died in 1973.
Everett's family described him as a "very loving and good-hearted person.
"He was a good friend to many people. He enjoyed gardening, restoring old cars, bicycle riding and walking. He was especially fond of his dogs, Tiger and Sister Seal."
