Boyd Melvin Holt
died December 26, 2021
in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. He was the
son of Harold Thurman
Holt and Inez Marion
Davidson. His wife, Viola
Mae Mackie; daughter, Judy Dodge and son Larry Holt
preceded him in death; as well as sisters: Barbara Moon
Stack and Linda Larsen Dooms, and brother, Robert
Holt. He is survived by his daughter, Karen, seven
grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Boyd was proud to be an American, served in the US
Army during WWII and was medically discharged.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA
in Architecture in 1956. He spent his career as a Civil
Engineer for the Bureau of Land Management in Grand
Junction.
Boyd remained fiercely independent all of his 95
years and was truly a “self-made-man.”
We was interned in the Western Colorado Veteran’s
Cemetery with his beloved “Vi” in July, with full
military honors.
