PaulJ.Ramirez, of Grand
Junction, passed away at
his home on November 21,
2023. He was 88.
Paul was born on January
5, 1935, to Jose and Matilde
(Gallegos) Ramirez. He enjoyed his youth in the splendors of Pitkin, Colorado. His
most cherished memories of
those younger days were
filled with antics and lots of
fun with his life-long best friend and little sister, Mary...
two peas in a pod. Truly, he was her hero.
Paul married Bernice L. Hunt, who sadly preceded him
in death in 2006. He proudly served our country in the U.S.
Navy, and later worked as a machinist for the Department
of Energy. He was a Grand Junction resident for many
years, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Paul loved to barbeque, especially when he was surrounded by his loved ones. It meant so much to him. Paul
loved building beautiful things out of wood, a hobby he became quite gifted at. It brought him such joy gifting others
from his beloved woodworking shop.
Paul had a heart of gold for sure, but let it be known
that whenever you saw his mischievous little smile starting
to appear, you knew something fishy was just around the
corner. Loved his 49ers. Fiercely proud of his Christmas
ham. Paul was a sensitive, sweet, generous, empathetic, and
helpful man. He will be truly missed.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Leslie, Carol Ann,
Paula, and Janet; his sister, Mary Martinez; his beloved
dear friends, Henry and Nancy Hoover; and many others
to cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his wife,
Bernice; and daughter, Laura.
A committal service will take place on Monday,
December 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway,
Grand Junction, CO 81501.
