Curtis George Martin
Jr., 74 of Grand Junction,
Colorado, passed away on
December 18, 2023. He was
born on October 27, 1949, in
Grand Junction, Colorado.
Curtis, lovingly known
as “Mr. Wilson” from the
Dennis the Menace comic
strip, was a grumpy old man
who enjoyed his alone time.
Curtis was a devoted
husband to his wife, Teddee Swain Martin, and a loving
father to his daughter, Shonna (Tim) Potts, and son, Eric
Martin. He cherished his family deeply and leaves behind
beautiful memories for them to hold onto.
After graduating from Grand Junction High School,
Curtis served in the Army National Guard, where he
demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country. His military experience was a source of pride for him
throughout his life.
Following his military service, Curtis embarked on a
successful 35 year career as a Locomotive Engineer with
the Union Pacific Railroad.
In his free time, Curtis indulged in his passion for
Nascar racing. He enjoyed attending many races and was
always thrilled by the speed and excitement on the track.
Curtis loved classic Rock & Roll and instilled his excellent
taste of music onto his children.
In accordance with Curtis’ wishes, there will be no services held at this time. However, for those who wish to honor his memory, contributions can be made to HopeWest.
Their care and compassion allowed him to pass with dignity.
