Luella Lenora Craig was born in Walnut. Iowa. January G. 1882 to Hada and Joseph Webster Craig. Her elemenatry and high school education was received in Walnut On October 2. 1907, Miss Craig became the bride of George W. Grant at a ceremony performed in Manitou, Colorado, and the young couple set up housekeeping at Sterling. Mr. Grant, n carpenter by trade, was drawn to Eagle County by the mining boom in the Lady Belle area southeast of the town of Eagle. A gentle, refined and religious woman, Mr*. Grant held on unassuming. but important role in the development of Eagle's Methodist Church. She took the working lead in contributing to the financial support of the church, working faithfully in the Ladies Aid, Weslyean Society and the Women's Society of Christian Service to help toward the remodeling of the old church into the present modern, beautiful building and the most recent construction of a new parsonage. There are few of us in this universe of whom these words ran be said: she was a kind and gentle woman. Imparting goodness and charity where e'er she went. Leaving a bit of herself through her quiet, kindly deed*. Mrs Grant Is survived by two children, Eugene of Leadville and Laurene Knupp of Eagle; six grandchildren: Eugene Max, Gail Mary and Grelta Luella Grant of

Leadville; David Craig, Michael Donald and Stanley Vance Knupp of Engle; and one brother. Eugene Craig of Avoca, la. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers. Mrs. Grant died in the Glen- ' wood hospital June 24. following a short illness. The Reverend Daniel Clark held funeral services at the Eagle Methodist Church Saturday afternoon. July 5. Mrs. Ivan Wescoatt, soloist and Mrs Glen Chambers, organist, provided the music. Farnum Mortuary of Glenwood directed arrangements and burial was in the Sunset View Cemetery at Eagle. Pallbearers were Fred Colby, Lloyd Greve, H. D. McCain. Melvin Eaton, C. A. McLain and Harold Koonce. Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were Mr and Mrs Eugene Craig of Avoca, la., Mr. and Mrs Eugene Craig. Jr. of Council Bluffs, la., Mrs. Glenn Craig and Mr. and Mrs Darrell Craig of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Lena Cornelia, Max and Theresa Cornelia, Mrs. Ben Kirn. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stoner and Chest r Cornelia all of Leadville. Mrs. Winifred Ginther of Derby. Mr and Mrs. Donald Ginther. Minturn, Bert Knupp, Rifle and Mrs Claude Hall, New Castle.
