Billie Aileen (Helms) Damon, 54, died from complications of heart and liver disease on March 1, 2004 in Grand Junction, Colorado. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 4 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Phil Neely officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Eagle. Billie was born January 14, 1950 to Harold Snowden and Lillie (York) Helms in Flint, Michigan. She spent her childhood in Eagle, Colorado and attended high school there. On May 11, 2002, Billie married John C. Damon in Molorai, Hawaii. He survives. A resident of Grand Junction for 13 years, she had previously been a resident of Denver and Eagle. Billie was employed as a PCB inspector and assembler. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Grand Junction. Billie loved traveling, working on crafts, and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gourmet cooking, photography, fishing, and family. Survivors include her husband, John C. Damon of Grand Junction; daughter, Keri Jo Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Brenda Robidoux of Wright, WY and Janice Strauss of Westminster, Colorado; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lily [Lillie] Helms.
