Mrs. Maloit Died In Grand Junction

Mrs Frank J. Maloit, prominent Eagle County citizen and social leader for many years, died early last Friday morning in a Grand Junction hospital, following an illness of nine days- j During the 36 years Mr and Mrs Maloit lived in Gilman, she was a leader in community affairs and inspirational influence In the life of her family. Mrs Maloft was the former Pearl Henrietta Kealer, born July 2, 1889 at SOcorro, N. Mex. and spent her early life there. Following her graduation from business college in Socorro, she worked as a legel secretary* prior to her ma:jriage lo Flank J. Maloit at Gallup, N. Mcx. in 1915. The family lived in Now Mexico before coming to Gilman in 1922. Mr. Male it rose from mine chief to superintendent of the New Jersey Zinc Co.’s Eagle mine at Gilman; then to general superintendent of the company’s western operations and in 1958 retired from the Gilman operation, but remained as head of one of the company’s newer ventures, with headquarters In Grand Junction, where Mr. and Mrs- Maloit had lived for the past two years. Mrs Maloit played an important role In her husband’s successful career, and was held In, the highest respect and admiration by everyone who knew her. She was a Catholic and a member of the A. I. M. E. Auxiliary. Mrs. Maloit is survived by her husband, Frank; a son, Robert James of Yardlsy, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Bisschoff of Toppenlsh, Wash., and Mrs. Jack (Frances) Nelson of Treadway, Term. Eight grandchildren also surviveFuneral services were conducted Monday in Grand Junction.
