STELLA T. MARFITANO, June 24, 1900-Sept. 15, 1985.
Stella Theresa MARFITANO of Glenwood Springs died Sunday at Glen Valley Nursing Home in Glenwood Springs after a short illness. She was 85.
Mrs. MARFITANO was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Garfield County.
She was born June 24, 1900, to Domenick and Theresa ALLARIA in Ouray, where she spent her childhood and attended schools. She also lived in Ridgway.
She married Ralph MARFITANO May 24, 1919. Mr. MARFITANO died in January 1980.
Mrs. MARFITANO had also lived in Redcliff, Carbondale and Rifle before moving to Glenwood Springs.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs.
Mrs. MARFITANO enjoyed crocheting, flowers and music.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was very active in the activities at the nursing home.
Survivors include one daughter, Joy Boltjes of Otis; one son, Roy MARFITANO of Glenwood Springs; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight in St. Stephen's Catholic Church and a Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Joseph LEBERER will officiate at both. Burial will follow at Rosebud Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenview Nursing Home.
Farnum-Richardson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
