Joe E. Albertson, 1904--2003
Joe Albertson was born Aug. 13, 1904 in Burns, and died March 24 in Grand Junction.
Joe grew up on the family ranch and started his first herd at age 9 with an orphaned Jersey calf. Joe married Ruth Gates on June 26, 1930. Ruth preceded him in death, and he remarried in 1974 to Marie (Gates) Younger.
Joe was preceded in Death by his eldest son, Charles, and is survived by Marie, brother Orris and sister Carrie Painter, as well as sons Frank (Joanne) and Vern (Susan), 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum March 29 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Valley Hospice, Gideon Society, First Baptist Church of Grand Junction or Burns Baptist Church c/o Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction.
