Mrs. Gus BENJAMIN, 75, of 1620 Grand Ave., Grand Junction died Tuesday in a Grand Junction hospital. She had been in failing health for some time.
A resident of Grand Junction for 23 years, she was a member of the Methodist Church and Grand Junction Chapter 103, OES, serving as worthy grand matron in 1934, as grand Ruth of the state organization in 1947, and as secretary of the Minturn OES Chapter from 1935 to 1943.
Mrs. BENJAMIN was born Gertrude Frances WALDORF at Halstead, Kans. Nov. 3, 1890. She spent her early life there.
The BENJAMINs were married at El Dorado, Kans. Jan. 1, 1910, lived in Terre Haute, Ind. and in Argonia and Wichita, Kans. and Denver. They moved to Minturn in 1926 and to Grand Junction in 1943.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Kenneth Carl of Orangevale, Calif.: two sisters, Mrs. Emma BATMAN of Elk City, Kan. and Mrs. May MALCOLM of Kansas City., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
