A memorial service for Neva J. BERSHENYI of Safford, Ariz., was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Grand Junction.
Mrs. BERSHENYI, a former ranch wife who worked at the U.S. Post Office in Eagle for many years, died Dec. 6 in Safford. She was 78.
She was born April 25, 1911, at Divide Creek, Colo., the daughter of William S. JOHNSON and Nora Steward JOHNSON. She spent her younger years at Divide Creek and graduated from the Garfield County schools.
She attended Barnes Business College in Denver, and was married Jan. 23, 1937, in Denver to Frank J. BERSHENYI.
Mr. and Mrs. BERSHENYI moved from Eagle to Grand Junction, and then to Arizona in 1978. Mr. BERSHENYI died in 1985 in Safford.
Mrs. BERSHENYI was a member of the Glenwood Springs Catholic Church.
She is survived by one brother, Dorris JOHNSON of Eagle; and several nieces, nephews and grad nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Martin Mortuary of Grand Junction was in charge of arrangements.
