Ruth H. BERTROCH, 74, formerly of Eagle County, died Thursday, Sept. 10, in Grand Junction.
Mrs. BERTROCH married Garland BERTROCH, a Gypsum native, Dec. 12, 1929 in Glenwood SPrings. They lived in a log cabin on the Bertroch homestead north of Gypsum before moving the the Eagle Valley where the couple made their home for 49 years.
She worked in the restaurant business for 25 years, was an avid horsewoman and had many interests centered around rodeo and horse showing.
Services were Monday at the Palisade Cemetery. The Rev. Lloyd McMILLAN of Northeast Christian Church officiated.
Mrs. BERTROCH was born Nov. 14, 1912, to Laura Proctor and William H. CAYWOOD at Rio Blanco, Colo. The family had 16 children.
She is survived by her husband, Garland; three daughters, Dixie Lee JANDREAU of Potsdam, N.Y.; Ruth JoAnn LAMONT of Grand Junction and Helen Joyce MAYNE of American Fork, Utah; two sons, Wesley BERTROCH of Penrose and Leslie of Delta; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
