Death of Mrs. Jake Borah (From Gypsum Correspondent)
On the morning of Tuesday, the 11th instant, the community was shocked to hear of the sad death of Mrs. Jake Borah, and it sorrows and sympathizes with the bereaved family. Mrs. Borah was the daughter of B. N. HOCKETT, a well known pioneer of Eagle county.

Minnie Hockett, child of B. N. and Emily HOCKETT, was born May 14th, 1871, near Cedarvale, Kansas, and died at Gypsum, Colorado, August 11th, 1908.
At an early age she removed with her parents to Eagle county, when they established their home at Gypsum in 1883.
She was married to J. E. BORAH, in 1891. They made Gypsum their home and none but those intimately associated know the loss and aching hearts in the home so lately cheered by her loving words. Her cheery and gracious ways won her friends wherever she went.
She leaves a husband and two sons, a father, four brothers, one sister and numerous friends to mourn her loss.
Sh was ill but a few days and bore her suffering with calmness. All was done that skill and loving hands could do, but death claimed her for his own.
The funeral was held at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, interment being in Gypsum cemetery, Rev. Ross officiating.

Gypsum Gleanings
Gypsum, Colorado, August 12, 1908 (Special)--A little boy was left at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake BORAH by Father Stork Saturday night but without life. The mother was in a dangerous condition and was watched carefully and given great care, but with all the efforts life vanished about ten o'clock Tuesday morning. She was surrounded by her relatives and intimate friends when death came, and leave to mourn her loss a husband, father, four brothers, one sister and two small sons with a number of friends. The funeral occurred at 4 o'clock Wednesday and was largely attended, a great number coming from Eagle and vicinity and some from Glenwood. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones during the time of their great sorrow.
