Mrs. N. Buchholz.
After a Lingering Illness of Many Years, Mrs. N. Buchholz Finds Eternal Rest.
The many friends of Mrs. Buchholz were saddened at learning that she had died at her home, three miles west of Eagle, Thursday evening. She had been a sufferer for years with dropsy, asthma and a complication of diseases that wore her life away despite the loving care and attention of friends and relatives.
Mrs. Buchholz, whose maiden name was Mary Owen ADAMS, was born March 10, 1842, at Locust Hill, Fauquier county Virginia. She was married June 6, 1866 to Mr. N. Buchholz. They lived in Washington, D.C., and at Quincy, Ill., for some time and in 1880 came to Colorado. Mrs. Buchholz leaves to mourn her loss a husband, three sons and two daughters. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and a faithful friend, a lady who will be missed by a large circle of acquaintances whose sympathy is with the stricken husband and children.
The funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the M. E. church at Eagle.

The many friends of the Buchholz family throughout the county will be grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Buchholz which occurred Thursday night at her home on the ranch near Eagle. Mrs. Buchholz has been confined to her bed for quite a spell with asthma and other lung troubles and for the past few days has been growing rapidly worse. Early in the week Assessor Buchholz was called to Eagle by the news that the patient's condition was serious. The malady continued to baffle the efforts of medical skill and Thursday night, surrounded by her sorrowing family, the devoted wife and loving mother passed quietly to the great beyond.
Mr. and Mrs. Buchholz are among the early settlers of Eagle county and lived for quite a while in this locality before removing to the valley where they have since made their home. Mr. Buchholz and several children, the Misses Hannah and Bertha Buchholz and the sons, John, James and Leo Buchholz mourn the departed and have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their irreparable loss. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Eagle.

Funeral of Mrs. N. Buchholz.
The funeral services of Mrs. N. Buchholz were held at the M. E. church at Eagle, Saturday afternoon, June 6th, at 3 o'clock p.m. Rev. J. G. BONNELL, by special request, preached a brief but very impressive and touching sermon. The services were opened by prayer after which the choir sand "Rock of Ages." The life of the deceased was clearly set forth, giving dates of birth, marriage, difference places of residence and time of death. The excellent qualifications and characteristics of the departed one were clearly and feelingly defined by Rev. Mr. BONNELL. Miss Clara BONNELL sang a beautiful solo entitled, "The Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," which was splendidly rendered and very fitting to the occasion. The services at the church closed with the hymn, "Nearer, My God, to Thee."
The remains were laid in a beautiful casket which was literally covered with wreaths, crosses and beautiful flowers, presented by the numerous friends of the deceased. While the last hymn was being sung, the casket was re-opened and the family and friends of the deceased were given a final opportunity to view the remains for the last time, after which the services were concluded at the cemetery. Undertaker A. F. GRAHAM of Red Cliff was in charge of the interment.
The remains were followed to the cemetery by one of the largest funeral processions ever witnessed in Eagle. Friends of the family were in attendance from Red Cliff, Minturn, Wolcott, Gypsum and Basalt.
The pall-bearers were: Charles McELLEN, Red Cliff; Charles GILMERr, Gilman; T. A. HOWES, H. W. GOODRICH, J. W. LOVE and James DILTS, of Eagle.
The service at the grave was the regular Methodist Episcopal church ritual.
