Another Pioneer Called.
James COLLINS died at his home in Red Cliff last Tuesday, March 1. Mr.COLLINS had been a sufferer from miners' consumption for years, but had been unable to attend to his duties as town marshal of Red Cliff, but a short time prior to his death.
"Jim" COLLINS came to Eagle County as a young man in the early eighties, first
locating in Eagle Park and later going to Battle Mountain and Red Cliff. He was a
good, patriotic citizen during his whole life being active in community affairs, was a
member of the Minturn Masonic lodge and was prominent in the councils of the
Democratic Party.
He is survived by the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Marie WARREN, and five sons,
Stewart, Robert, Thomas, Philip, James and Harvey, all living in Red Cliff with the
exception of the latter, who moved to California a few years ago.
