PERCY BERGQUIST BURIED IN MINTURN SUNDAY.
Funeral services were held in the Minturn Presbyterian church Sunday October 23 for Percy BERGQUIST by by Rev. Paul A. SHIELDS of Eagle.
Mr. BERGQUIST, 44, was killed instantly last Thursday, in a hunting accident, when a bullet was discharged from his gun as he tripped, when he and a hunting partner, Pete BURNETT were bringing in their deer near the Ross Grant ranch on Gore Creek.
He had lived in Minturn for the past twelve years, where he was employed by the Denver and Rio Grande Railway Company as a machinist helper, and where he held the respect of his fellow workers as well as of the Minturn community. He is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Betty Jo and Jean of Minturn.
The services Sunday were attended by a large gathering of friends, and music was furnished by Roxie ZEIMER who sang, "The Touch of His Hand on Mine" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" accompanied on the piano by Mrs. H. G. BYER. Burial was in the Minturn cemetery, and arrangements were made by Bowman Funeral Chapel of Eagle.
Pall bearers were William BURNETT, Wm. WILSON, Harvey CLINE, George ARMSTRONG, Arthur HENKE, and L. CHADWICK. Honorary pall bearers were Wm. HARRIS, Arthur GUY, June GILES, L. O. FICKLIN and Joe CLARK>
Relatives who came for the funeral were Mrs. WATSON mother of Mrs. BERGQUIST who came from Oklahoma; her two sisters who flew from Alaska; two aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Fred BERGQUIST and Mr. and MRS. JOHNSON of Fraser and nieces and nephews.
