Sigurd Mathias Bobson, a resident of Gypsum for 75 years, passed away Monday, August 13, at the Glen Valley Nursing Home in Glenwood Springs. He was 97.

He was born in Tresfjord, Norway on February 24, 1882 and moved to Gypsum in 1902. He worked on the Doll Ranch until he began ranching for himself.

He married Anna L. Ryden in Gypsum on Feb 24, 1913. He was a member of the Order of the Oddfellows 146 and of the Lutheran Church of Gypsum. He loved horses, cattle, and potatoes.
