Funeral services were held Jan. 3, in Basalt for John Theodore BUREMAN, a resident of the Basalt community for the past 52 years.
Mr. BUREMAN was born at Alta, Sweden, April 27, 1868, and spent his childhood there. He came to the United States when he was a young man, first settling at Girard, Kans. and six years later to Basalt. He is survived by three sons, Harold of Bayfield, Eric of Basalt and Elster of Ft. Collins.
Funeral arrangements were directed by Farnum Mortuary of Glenwood Springs. The service was conducted by Rev. John PORTER in the Basalt Community church and pallbearers were Joe NYBERG, Henry RAY, Dave OLSON, Walter HYRUP, Alfred SLOSS and Ben DARIEN.

John T. BUREMAN was called Johan Theodor BJURMAN in Sweden, where he was born. He left Goteborg, Sweden on 2 Nov 1888 with a destination, Clay Center, Kansas. His brother, Karl Gustave BJURMAN, a.k.a. Gus BUREMAN, had gone to Clay Center in 1869. Gus BUREMAN stayed in Kansas and had a large family with many descendants. John T. BUREMAN went out to Colorado. He married a woman named Daisy, whose last name is unknown to me.
