Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. today for Royce Lloyd Flanigan who died Sunday, August 11 in Glenwood Springs. He was 59. Mr. Flanigan worked for several auto body shops in Eagle and Gypsum before moving to Glenwood Springs several years ago. At one time, he had owned and operated his own auto body shop in Grand Junction. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Born Feb. 4, 1932 in West Union, WV, to John and Thelma (Davis) Flanigan, he married Patty Samuels on Feb. 21, 1966 in Winchester, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Patty of Glenwood Springs; his father John of Salem, WV and children: David (Roxanne) of Little River, S.C.; John of Glenwood Springs; Christine and LaVonne of Akron, OH; Annette (George) Owens of Nutter Fort, WV; and Mary of Glenwood Springs. One brother, Ronnie (Sharon) Flanigan, of WV survives as well as 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma, in 1959. Services will be held today at the Farnum-Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs. Rev. Dave Pearson will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Farnum-Holt Funeral Home.
