Heart attack fatal to Albert GATES.
Albert GATES, prominent Eagle County stockman and rancher, died in the Glenwood hospital early this morning of a heart attack.
Mr. GATES, 50 years of age, entered the hospital two days before his death. Hew as well known in the county, as well as in stockmen's circles. He had been the Republican's candidate for county commissioner from District 3 twice.
He recently had gone into business with Fred SATTERFIELD, in operating the store at Derby Creek Junction on the Colorado River.
Tentative arrangements are for services conducted by Reverend Daniel CLARK of Eagle, at Burdge Garden Chapel in Glenwood Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Mr. GATES is survived by his wife, Bettie; five children: Betty Jo MILLER, Berta Jean STEPHENS, Bill, Janice and Janet GATES.

Albert Ewing GATES was born April 15, 1909 at Burns, Colorado to George Albert and Nona George GATES.
On June 17, 1931, he was married to Bettie Elizabeth HIGHT in Gypsum, Colo. To this union were born five children.
Mr. GATES had spent his life in Burns, where he was a prominent rancher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 122 at Eagle, of the Eagle County Cattlemen's Assn., and Colorado Cattlemen's Assn., serving on numerous committees and advisory boards.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie; and children: Mrs. Betty Jo (Ben) MILLER of Grand Junction; Mrs. Berta Jean (Jimmy) STEPHENS, Sweetwater; Wm. L., Janet and Janice of Burns and his brothers and sisters: Mrs. Orris ALBERTSON, Mrs. Joe ALBERTSON and Frank GATES all of Burns; Mrs. Charles GROUES, Sunnyside, Wash.; and Mrs. Marie YOUNGER, Oak Creek. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at Burdge Garden Chapel in Glenwood Sunday afternoon, with interment in the Glenwood Rosebud cemetery. The Reverend Daniel CLARK of Eagle was the minister.
