Former Oak Creek, Colo., resident Bonnie Green died Jan. 11, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. She was 72.

Green was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Squaw Creek, Colo. She grew up in Denver, before moving to Routt County where she met and married Perley Green in 1948.

The couple owned property on Twenty-mile where they ranched for many years and raised all five of their children. Green drove a bus for the Steamboat Springs School District for more than 20 years. She was also a longtime member of the Routt County Farmers’ Union.

Green moved to Grand Junction in 1999 because of health reasons and was residing in Fruita at the time of her death.

Green is survived by her husband of 54 years, Perley, of Fruita, Colo.; her mother, Daisy Denning, of Wickenburg, Ariz.; two sons, Terry (Rachel) Green, of Steamboat and Billy (Ramona) Green, of Craig; three daughters Connie (Dan) Wagner, of Steamboat, Anita (Dennis) Paquette, of Winnemucca Nev., and Jeannette (Bryan) Carmack, of Palisade Colo.; one brother, Gilbert Howard, of Spiro, Okla.; six sisters, June Myers, of Modesto, Calif., Doris Denning, of Wickenburg, Ariz., Louise Bair, of Arizona, Beverly John, of Denver, Bell Shepherdson, of Grand Junction, and Minnie Taylor; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her fathers, Doc Howard and Willard Denning and two sisters, Loretta Williams and Dorothy Potter.

Services were held Jan 16, 2003, in Stearnboat Springs. Interment was the Oak Creek cemetery.
