Complete collection guide available. This collection contains personal items from different family members of the Dougherty-Quinlan-Mosher lineage. Correspondence between the three families, photographs, and personal items are included. There are 6 sections: Personal, Business, Correspondence, Ephemera, Photographs and Media, and Oversized items. ,The Dougherty/Doherty Family Collection contains items from Dougherty family members and extended family. Most lived in the Gypsum and McCoy areas of Eagle County, Colorado. This collection includes items from different family members of the Dougherty, Quinlan, and Mosher families, respectively. Various spellings of "Dougherty" exist. Copies of items in our archival collection have been made available in the Reference area of the Eagle Library's Colorado Collection. Photographs in this collecion can be accessed on the Historical Photographs webpage, our Digital Archive, and are listed as the collection 2006.005. Sarah DOUGHERTY was born on October 9, 1843 in Donegal County, Ireland. She moved to Leadville, Colorado, in 1872 and then homesteaded on a ranch on the lower Eagle River in 1886, raising livestock. She died on September 17, 1917. Her sister, Elizabeth, married J.P. QUINLAN, and they had three daughters-- Agnes, Elizabeth, and Mary-- and a son, Emmett. Agnes Quinlan would marry Lawrence MOSHER, thus connecting these three families.
